The day before the day: 31 Days of Living Well & Spending Zero!

Challenge Accepted!

I'm on board to start this 31 day challenge Tomorrow! Today I went grocery shopping and stocked up on a few essentials. Interestingly enough I probably only spent $50 bucks more than I would if I were shopping for only two weeks. So I feel like if I pull this challenge off I'll be able to save about 50% of what we normally spend on groceries.

Today I am feeling very empowered and I am looking forward to spending some quality time finding free things to do and taking the extra step to prepare food when we are out and about. I even convinced my husband, Brady, to jump on board.

How are you feeling about the start of your challenge?

Inspiration for my challenge blog

Today I found a website with a challenge not to spend any money for 31 days. This really caught my eye because my family has been living off of student loans and mooching off family for the past two years while my husband is law school and things are pretty tight. So this 31 Days of Living Well & Spending Zero  spoke to me and I jumped in head first and invited everyone I know on Facebook to join me before I really even was 100% committed. So far I have had three friends say they would be willing to try it with me thus motivating me to really go for it!

The challenge is supposed to get you thinking about what you can live without and cleansing, if you will, your budget so you can start fresh. This got me to thinking about habits and how long it takes to make new ones. I did my research (asked my good friend Google) and it shows that it takes 21 day to form a new habit or break a bad one.

Taking on a challenge is a fun way for me to start forming some of the good habits I've been thinking about doing for ages and breaking the bad ones so I can live a better life. I also believe that tracking my progress on this challenge blog creates some sort of accountability for myself.

I hope that my journey will be of some sort of inspiration or at the least some sort of entertainment for you. I am in the process of creating a list of types of challenges I will be looking for to do. I am open to finding fun, uplifting, self-bettering, peace making, inspiring, and all that sort of good stuff kind of challenges to do so please send me suggestions you might have.

Thanks for joining me!
